My two buy-ins
So...i just blew up two buy-ins in one orbit. Any advices how i coul've avoided either one.. Am i way off line in the second hand where i maybe even wanted to appear a bit tilty and be called by some Ax hand?
In the first hand villian is a decent holdem player in my notes...likes to draw alot even against pot odds. Sakuraba (EUR 452) Villian (EUR 626) Sakuraba was dealt: Ts - Td UTG Call (4.00) Sakuraba (MP) Call (4.00) MP+2 Call (4,00) SB Call (2.00) Villian Check Flop Tc - 2s - Ah (Pot 20) UTG Check Villian Bet (16.00) Sakuraba Call (16.00) MP+2 Fold SB Fold Turn Tc - 2s - Ah - 2h (Pot 52) Villian Bet (34.00) Sakuraba Raise (100.00) Hmambo Call (66,00) River Tc - 2s - Ah - 2h - 2c Hmambo Bet (350.00) Sakuraba All-In (332.50) 2nd hand: Villian in this one is pretty loose calling station in my notes. Sakuraba (BB) (EUR 400) Villian2 (MP)(EUR 516) Sakuraba was dealt: 8h - Ad Villian2 Raise (8.00) MP+2 Call (8.00) SB (6.00) Sakuraba Call (4.00) Flop Jc - 6d - Ac (Pot 26) SB Check Sakuraba Bet (20,00) Villian2 Call (20,00) MP+2 Fold SB Fold Turn Jc - 6d - Ac - Ks (Pot 66) Sakuraba Bet (40,00) Villian2 Call (40,00) River Jc - 6d - Ac - Ks - 8d (Pot 146) Sakuraba All-In (332,00) leffe_a Call (332,00) |

Re: My two buy-ins
Hand one - There is nothing wrong in the way u played it-- If he has Aces or a 2 -- pay him off. The second hand i think you played too agressiveley even if he was a calling station. Also- was this a four handed game? If so the raise preflop was ok and your bets throughout were ok except the last bet which was three times the pot. I think a pot sized bet would have been better with a tough decision if the player went allin. It still wasnt a bad play but i usually dont try to overbet that much unless i 1. HAve the nuts and 2. I am 100% sure that i will get called. If not why bet that much when there even a calling station will have a hard time calling that much with a Ace rag. You wont get much value getting paid off for yur two pair with that big of a bet. Also- if hes a caling station-- I have played with alot of these players who wouldnt reraise you with a higher two pair or even a set. Thats why they are calling stations-- they dont know how to bet there hands even if they have the best hand. also with ur preflop raise-- the player might believe u hit two pair with A_K and wont reraise u even if he has A-J. If he has a set -- he would reraise ur pot sized bet on the river and u would ahve a tough decision. If he is a bad player witha set they might not reraise or reraise less than allin-- saving u money if u called . Just a thought

Re: My two buy-ins
Thanks man...that was really clever and helpful.
Just tell me how was the first one bad beat post when most of the money went in at the river...are you retarded? Maybe i was waiting for some words of the river action? But thanks anyway. |

Re: My two buy-ins
I agree, bet like 100-150 on the end in hand #2 and fold to a raise, unless villain will bluff raise you with busted clubs, but most weak calling stations won't.

Re: My two buy-ins
No one else thinks raising with TT in the first one is a good idea? I'm usually not limping in that position; rather, I'll stick in a raise to about $16 (4X the big blind).

Re: My two buy-ins
I assume he had quad twos on the first hand, that sucks but theres nothing you can do. If he checked AA in the blind multiway then good for him theres nothing you can do about that either.
The second hand I don't like. Flop and turn are fine, I'd check call the river. Pushing ensures that only hands that are beating you call. he obviously has something so give him some credit. Check calling may well get a bluff or value bet from a worse hand. |
