Default Josh Arieh on Bodog

I'm watching Josh Arieh play 5/10 PLO8 on Bodog. A few observations:

1. Why do people buy in short stacked? I've seen about 5 people buy in for between $200 and $500. They just loose their stacks - fairly quickly. Is it worth $300 to tell your friends you played for 10 minutes with Josh Arieh on line? How sad.

2. I've noted that Josh wins or scoops big pots and loses/folds small pots. This is a lesson that I need to learn and remember. I would say this is what really seperates the pros from the fish.

3. Josh very rarely shows down a hand, he either wins or folds. I assume this keeps the other players from knowing if he really had a hand and what he plays. Another bit of info I should incorporate into my play.

4. I can't believe the chat coming from the morons who are observing. Josh just beat a guy and both the loser and observers are giving him all kinds of sht - in pretty strong language. So Josh just decided to leave.

I thought this might interest you, wintermute:

Tuesday I have a meeting with a doctor to have my first physical since probably the 8th grade and I also have a meeting with a nutritionist. I am finally deciding to turn over a new leaf and pay some attention to this spare tire that has consistently grown bigger over the last couple of years. I cant tell you how many of those wonder diet programs that I have tried. Man, I have done it all… I actually lost 30 lbs in 3 months back in 2003 doing the Atkins Diet, but as you all know, that weight comes back with interest. Now, I also have to deal with food tasting oh so good since I have quit smoking as well….

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Unicorns.

In all seriousness did you steal this from me? This is my catchphrase when a fish or table captain berates me for making a "bad" play. I always just say "I like unicorns" and then leave it at that.

Believe it or not, it is an advantage to be short-stacked. Many people may buy in short because they are losing players. However, this is not caused by buying in short.
