My magazine article this month.

I'm not a fan of spamming my own work, especially as my article is usually just the "Silly bit" that all magazines have on the back page, however my article this month does contain a scenario I find fascinating and is SNG related.

Anyone who ICM's the hand in question may be in for a bit of a surprise.

I'd be interested to see what people think of the hand described by The Genie. It's something I've hinted at on here before, and have used for a long time (very occasionally).

I'd also appreciate it if any replies were in the magazine forum as that forum is way too quiet.

I've used that play 0 times in 2 years, but I really really want to do it at least once in my life. It's kinda like hitting a trifecta.

I had already named this move the 'Lori' but apparently it's called an 'action bluff' or some nonsense, [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img].

Oh well...I still haven't truly executed it properly in like over 2k STTs....lol.

But yes, the article is a good read....and a very interesting situation. However, I'm not positive that one's reads can really be so good as to make the suggested play by Genie to be optimal....I think that both players have to get allin vs. each other like at least 80+% of the time to give this a shot of being an ultimately +EV play...

For what its worth I don't think that raising with 83o there in the BB is correct at all, nor can I imagine any scenario where raising it to 400 makes any sense with those stack sizes. I'm really confused about the whole article..

If you get it right 100% of the time, you gain $2.5 or so EV according to the ICM compared to if you fold.

Of course, you don't get it right 100% of the time, but I believe you break even if you get it right about 45% of the time.

Edit: Getting it right = both other players go all in.

Of course, 45%/ICM is partly wrong because it doesn't factor in that you will then also have to fold the next two to four hands blind.

But I think 2/3 of the time would do it. I wanna do that play sometime dammit.
