Default 10-20 Online Session

I've hesitated to post this because it will pinpoint my id to anybody who was playing at this table when the following incident took place. It will also, for good or bad, change my table image to those who were there.

Normal 10-20 game. Everybody thinks they play well. Three or four actually do.

Win a few bets, lose a few, take down a nice pot from the big blind. I'm babysitting my grandson, 7, who's sitting on my lap learning the game and b.s.ing with me between hands. I get dealt AA on the button just as the door bell rings. I decide to ignore it, and raise two limpers. The bell rings twice more and a player with a very bad connection is prompted to play yet again.

"Can you help Gramps here son? Just point the mouse on this button "Bet" and if nothing happens then click on this this button "Raise" until I get back. Okay? No matter what."

Full of pride he took over the seat and the mouse as I ran to get the door. It turned out to be the police, who were intent on asking about a burglary which had taken place next door the night before. I answered the questions as quickly as I could, but then they got interested in a small violation which was clearly visible to them from the doorway. I'll spare you the details but I ended up talking to them for over ten minutes.

As I entered my room I heard a shriek of laughter and a gleefully shouted "Raise". Good Lord.

I caught his turn card play. He capped. He held 8d7d utg the board was (AdAc9d)10c. Three competing for a pot over $350. The river came 6h, he looked at me and I told him "You know what to do" and out he bet. The big blind stupidly raised.

Nice hand boy.

I retook my seat, looked at my stack (buyin $500, now $1350), folded my big blind to a raise, thanked everybody for the game and left the table. Then clicked on to observe and read the chat.

"Nooooo, don't leave."
"Unf***ing believable."
"There goes my money."
"He used to be tightass" etc etc

I made my grandson promise not to tell his mom about our little adventure, then took him out to McDonald's for a treat.

I'm worried the boy just graduated from Maniac 101.

Billy

Great story Billy, I have heard of other people playing accounts but that is one to write home about!

I have to ask about this Billy: ...but then they got interested in a small violation which was clearly visible to them from the doorway. I'll spare you the details but I ended up talking to them for over ten minutes. Did they see your bong sitting on your coffee table?

Nice story, that is really funny.

You took him too McDonalds for a treat. I would have taken the kid to a steak house after that and maybe hit up a strip club on the way back. If he's old enough to play poker he's old enough to be in strip bar.

LOL.

A classic story Billy, a memory he will never forget.

"I made my grandson promise not to tell his mom about our little adventure..."

But the chances of this story NOT getting out to Mom are exactly zero.

Awesome.

Reminds me of the Party Poker Million I last chance tourney. I was driving from San Fran to SLC and we decided to drive to Reno, spend the night there, and then head to SLC the next morning. Staying at the Reno Hilton, I get into a nice 4/8 game and I am on a roll. I take a quick break and go see my wife and kids in the room, and realize I have to either quit the 4/8 game or miss the last chance.

I figure I'm better off in the 4/8 game, profit-wise, so I set my 11 year old daughter up and dial her in to the tourney.

Long story short, I come back around midnight, everyone is asleep. Next morning I ask how she did..."I won, Daddy!".

So I don't feel so bad when my superior skill usually loses out to the unknown 11 year olds I am undoubtedly losing to at Party Poker...

Anyone else concerned what's going to happen when all these kids become 21 and we can't win anymore? (not that I can win now...)

cool story

seriously tho u should never open door to police without security screen door (metal) but we all do

but what u should do realistically is answer it and step outside and close the door.

Might want to uncheck that "save password" box on your login screen... just a thought!
