bottom 2 pair in sb against another big stack!!
Prima $10 rebuy 60 started down to 30
i'm currently 4th with 11000 chips villain is 3rd with 13000 chips Villain is loose and often has made bets with nothing (recently doubling up with T9s all-in against a guy on a flush draw when the flop was K67 none of villains suit) My image was relatively tight i had a big stack from before the break and had managed to gradually increase my stack thru blind stealing. Blinds 150/300 Hero is dealy k7o 3 folds, villain calls, 4 folds, hero completes, big blind checks Flop K97r Pot = 900 Hero checks big blind checks villain bets 600 (hero's thinking was that villain if checked to would almost certainly bet with any holding) hero planned to flat call and check/raise the turn to get maximum value from villains bluff) hero calls 600 big blind folds Turn J making it K97J 2 diamonds (hero doesnt hold a diamond) Pot = 2100 hero checks Villain bets 1200 hero raises to 3600 (looking back on it now i believe this to not have been enough) Villain calls 2400 River = 9 making it K97J9 Pot 9300 Hero's action? Hero has roughly 6500 chips left! |

Re: bottom 2 pair in sb against another big stack!!
You could argue for any of the possible actions on the flop, Im probably betting out or check raising because I prefer not slow playing two pair but since youre reading him as a LAG check call might be the way to go. Check raising to 5K seems to be the right amount on the turn but this is such a large percentage of your stack and he seems to call with a wide range of hands youre beating so pushing might be the way to go. Now to the question you actually asked ...
Its hard to find a hand he can call with that you beat here so I dont see the value in betting. Its very close between a check/call and a check/fold, I think he checks behind on Kx so if he bets its either a 9 or a missed draw (maybe TJ). Would be good to know what percentage of rivers he is betting, with no read Im probably folding to anything over 2K since you still have plenty to work with. Tough one. |
