Honestly the only reason i can think of is because it will keep the fish flapping a little longer to produce more rake.

Re: Thoughts on why no party 10/20 6max?
This is a good question, and personally I would welcome 6max in both 10/20 nl and plo. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to why party introduces or not any particular game form. Their bone-head introduction of so many limits that are very close to each other is a case in point. Although I don't play limit, why for example would they introduce 20/40 on top of 15/30 and under 30/60? Granted that players want to work their way up the ladder, but the difference between 15/30 and 20/40 limit is so slight that they should just have eliminated 15/30 if they wanted to introduce 20/40 (although 15/30 is a better action promoting structure). In nl the different levels offered have seemed to work out well, although in my second main game plo, the introduction of 10/20 blinds killed 5/10 and 3/6.
As to thoughts that full games are better for fish, I don't buy it at all and think that the opposite is true since they like to play more hands and there won't be as many better hands out against theirs, though that won't overcome playing the situation bad. Any structures that punish overly weak-tight play is good for poker, and 6max is perfect for that. For the truly tight-aggressive player who can adapt to different structures (including the old 50x max buyin format), such structural elimination of weak-tights is a huge bonus allowing that player to play more hands against weaker players without having to allow rocks to get part of that fish money. It makes no sense that party would not allow 6max at 10/20 big bet games, since presumably even with the elimination of weak-tights to some degree, there should be more games spread and thus more rake produced, with the bonus that games should start more easily. I would also welcome party changing full games to 9 handed instead of 10 for the same reasons. However, I think we all know the futility of contacting party about anything game structure related as the probability of getting any response at all is less than your chances of winning the lottery. |

[/ QUOTE ] this was pretty much what i thought. monkeys like 6max cos they don't always run into aces. i'm surprised party didn't introduce 6max 10/20 first, then add FR. fim |
