that sounds great.. i hardly get around that part of town - and they do supposively have a great steak special? anyone know the details of that? $7.77 for a crapload?

Any knowledge of the Hard Rock opening a cardroom .. that would be an awesome plus considering the Palms room smells like garbage and is run by jackholes and dealt by addicts The hard rock has a comparable crowd to the palms in youth & looks [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I assume from the responses that you are asking what rooms are opening.

South Coast and Red Rock Station both next year in Spring.

Rumor has it that the Cosmo (next to Bellagio) will have one.

The Venetian's Pallazo will also be having one.

Green Valley Ranch is slated for a late September opening.

On the Wild Wild West property on W. Tropicana, Stations is going to demolish and build a high rise property to rival the Palms/Rio and if you know Stations, they will have a poker room there most likely.

Durango Station, yes you heard me, Durango Station at the 215/S. Durango area will probably have one, but that wont be till after Red Rock gets opened. Then construction will begin. That's what all the residents are bitching about down there with the casino zoning.

I don't think the Hard Rock has any plans to open a room up as of right now... Caesars still hasn't hired their director of poker yet, so tack on 2-3 months minimum from the time they finally do hire one...

On a side note, when will it all end with the opening of poker rooms? I truly believe Vegas is becoming too crowded with rooms right now... What do I base this on? During the week, rooms like Wynn, MGM, Bellagio, Mirage, etc...barely get above half capacity... What will it be like when you factor in Caesars, Venetian, etc...? A bunch of rooms that are 1/4-1/2 full on a nightly basis? Sooner or later the smaller, crappier rooms are going to shut their doors... just my opinion...

50% utilization during the week isn't too bad. How many of their blackjack tables do you think get play during the week?

This is typical Vegas development mentality - it doesn't really matter if there is "enough" of something if you can do it better and force the others to close down.

For example, the Wynn incorporated the large-screen wait-list display, which, IMHO, makes it a highly desireable place to play - you don't have to keep checking with the Brush to see where you are on the list.

That, plus its a beautiful room.

Personally, I really like the room at the Mirage - if for no other reason than it is right next to the bathroom.

that should def. be standard now in every room.. they all have the screens .. but they don't all have the software for the list..... another important factor to me is the location of parking, and the ease of getting in and out...

i.e. the wynn used to be really congested - but now it's easy and the poker room is right near the garage...

i also like to be able to get some air really quick if i need to, and the wynn isn't near the outside exits - which sucks.... so for now i stick to other rooms where u can take a quick break outside in the heat
