1. Calling AQs to raise
-I'm ok with that 2. Leading the flop -Not so much. To rip off Harrington, you've turned AQs into 72o. Check and look for cheaper draw. If anyone has a set and possibly even an overpair, they're going to be raising a board like this quite heavily. 3. Go all-in -Not so much. You're only $150 invested into this and you're willing to spend over 7 times more than that(~$1100)? This is something I've recently run into as I like to lead out flops with nut flush draw but recently have been seeing several players raising hard and killing my potodds. I do hoewver think that had you not lead out this flop you would have had a similar outcome except you would saved $100 on your flop-bet. |

What'd you expect to fold out with your flop bet? Nearly anything that calls you will most likely raise. I check-call a reasonable bet here.

[/ QUOTE ] I think he expected to get folds or get all-in, both of which are fine as long as there's not a set out there. If, for instance, he were up against just KK, he would've been justified in getting allin with the dead money in the pot. You've got about .3 equity vs a set, btw, so the allin call is slightly +EV with two other callers and a ton of dead money, as we have here. The key here is that KK is dead in the water, so you and JJJ are just splitting his money. If KK did the correct thing and folded, you would've been in a bad way. |

-Not so much. You're only $150 invested into this and you're willing to spend over 7 times more than that(~$1100)? [/ QUOTE ] A couple of things wrong with this: (1) Hero invested $160 into the pot by the time he has to act again. (2) You shouldn't act based on how much you invested so far. It's unhealthy to think in such terms. What you've invested is in the pot and pot odds (as well as implied odds) should dictate your actions. Garland |
