I just sat down so I don't have any reads other then it is during the day and I expect to be playing against good players. No converter, but I am looking for more general concepts then this specific hand.
1/2 Party Battle of the Blinds. No flushes ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Scott2130 [ 4s 8h ] Big Blind Mo_Aces folds. whiterims folds. Icham folds. pagg72 folds. JoggaJo folds. fun160 folds. dany306 calls [$0.50]. Small Blind Scott2130 checks. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 7s, 7h, 8d ] dany306 bets [$1]. Scott2130 raises [$2]. dany306 calls [$1]. ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3s ] dany306 checks. Scott2130 bets [$2]. dany306 raises [$4]. Scott2130 raises [$4]. dany306 raises [$4]. Scott2130 calls [$2]. ** Dealing River ** [ Qc ] dany306 bets [$2]. Hero? We are the blinds so we could have any two cards. At what point should I conclude he has a 7 or over pair? If I do belive him should I call down or fold? Same type of situation but different cards: Again no flush Hero is BB with JJ MP1 and MP3 limp the rest fold to hero who raises and they both call. Flop: 2 4 Q Hero bets MP1 folds and MP3 calls Turn and River are small cards and considered blanks. Hero bets turn and is called checks river and MP3 bets. What do I do? I guess my heads up play is weak, but how do you make these choices? Are these cases strickly reads and odds? If so then I have to re-read those sections in SSH |

Fold to the turn CR. You may be prone to being over-suspicious to bluffing. If there is less than a 15% chance that the opponent is bluffing here (and I think there is less chance then that), then you would be wrong to continue.

Yuck
Hand #1 is crazy. Fold to the C/R. Call down if you feel lucky. 3-betting is awful. Hand #2 bet the river. Easy call as you played it. I honestly don't pay a ton of attention to odds HU; I think it causes you to play too passively (apparantly that's a problem you don't have though). IMO it's mostly about feel and reads. |

I'd probably fold to his flop bet. This is where the concept of reverse implied odds comes into play. The pot is very small on the flop, and you're hand is decent. If you raise, and you have him beaten then his hand is horrible, (83, 82, or a pocket pair lower than sevens). If that's the case you won't get much money out of him. If you raise and he has you beat, you are going to spend a lot of money to get to a showdown to figure it out.
He may have a straight draw, and if that is the case you still won't get much money off of him, and he may even have a couple of overs to your eights. In my opinion the pot is much too small to get involved, and the flop is an easy fold against an unknown. After that your turn play is horrible. Ok, he's slowed down and checked to you. This indicates maybe a draw, or missed overs and flop bluff. But when he check-raises you all signs point to trip 7s, and you should fold at this point. Then your three-bet is pretty bad too. Your hand isn't that strong. What do you think he check-raises this turn with that you have beat? I'd say nothing unless he's a maniac. |

I think my problem is alot like Ortho's post that I just found. I will be reading both.
Grunchcan could be right and I just want him to be bluffing or I don't want to be bluffed. I could just want the pot WAY TO BAD |

Agreed. That c/r should have slowed you down. Only 3bet a c/r here with the nuts or near nuts.
