Two hands
2 hands I played today at NL 200.....I had no reads on either villian, and both hands were played with around 100 BB stacks, give or take a few bets
Hand 1 I hold AJs in middle position w/100 BBs....2 limpers to me, I limp, button makes it 8, BB(villian) calls with 100 BBs as does one limper and myself Flop is AJ4, suits unimportant...checked to button, who bets 10 into a 40 dollar pot, he is checkraised to 40 by the BB...I smooth call and we are heads up to the turn, which is a blank.....All the money gets in pretty quickly Hand 2 At a loose table after one limper I limp with JTs, folded to BB who makes it 8 to go. Limper folds, we are heads up Flop is KJJ, suits unimportant He checks, I bet the pot, he minraises, I call....Turn is a blank, he bets pot, I raise all in, he calls |

Re: Two hands
in hand 1 suits are important as it eliminates some of the holdings of villain.
personally I think BB has you beat in hand 1. also, what is your reasoning for limp calling out of position with AJ preflop? |

Re: Two hands
in hand one the board was rainbow on the turn....I called getting around 3.5-1....is that not standard??

Re: Two hands
BB was not preflop raiser. BB checkraised a rainbow ace high flop.
what do you think bb has ? I think its a split pot at best. I hope you hit your 4 outer redraw. |

Re: Two hands
yeah, i didn't hit my redraw, and yeah, he had a set of 4s...I basically posted that hand because I wasn't sure if this was a standard laydown on the flop...In your opinion it is?

Re: Two hands
hand 2 is very read dependent. if villian leads at most of the pots in which he raises p/f then you need to take that into account. possible hands that you're behind are: AJ, KJ, KK. other possible hands (which you're ahead of are): AK, AA, a terrible bluff/overplayed weak hand (eg-QQ). in order to define his range i'd consider what types of hands this type of player would raise in the bb. also, does he view you as tricky, or LAG?

Re: Two hands
hand 2.....i can't see opponent having anything but a jack with a kicker better than yours, or KK....
Hand 1 - You might be ahead here although a set of 4's is likely. I swear i've seen the donks roll j 4 or Ace 4 enough of the time that I think you have to call. |

Re: Two hands
If he has been paying attention, he probably views me as a lag...I've played quite a few pots since I sat down, and I'm pretty aggressive when checked to....I also just bet 200 into a 7 dollar pot when I rivered a wheel, but I'm not sure what he thinks about that....

Re: Two hands
its either something that has me beat or a pure bluff or a very aggressively played A4 or 23.
if I know villain to be tight enough to not call preflop raises with A4 and 23 and not aggressive enough to do a pure bluff, which is the majority of the time, I fold the flop. |
