Loose passive preflop no reads postflop limps in from mp.

You have 55/66 in the CO. Your play?

If the blinds are loose, you call, don't raise when the blinds never fold their blind and play too far their hand... 55 four handed won't win a lot w/o improving to a set...IMO

by raising you often get free turns and rivers. It's not all bad.

Ditto. Also, re-read ITPM pp 16-19. This is not an automatic raise.

If this type of player will tend to check hands down to showdown, it's an easy raise. If he's tricky and tries to push you off what he thinks are overcards, or will fight with a weak ace or king, I probably fold. A lot of lpps will check weaker hands (even tpwk) to showdown against a PF raiser, which you'd love. I much prefer raising a tighter player with this hand to a loose player who will bet if he sense any weakness and goes to showdown far too often. With no postflop reads on the limper, it's probably an ok play, unless the button or blinds are overly loose and cc a lot, in which case you should probably fold, maybe call depending on the likely players to be involved.

3-bet does not = raising a loose limp

Correct. Raising a loose limp is even less likely to isolate, which is why you be even more cautious in using it.

Don't get me wrong here. It's an easy 3bet if a loose moron open raise. But it's merely a call if a loose moron open limp. Even if you raise the big blind will be getting ok odds to play a lot of hands and even more if sb is a loose moron too and call your raise. 55 is not great at all to play 4 handed. I prefer to limp too and just muck it on the flop if the flop is bad.
