I was just about to start a thread on this hand. Unless I have a read on BB as being tight and straightforward, I am probably calling the turn to try to make my flush, and then I'll probably have to call the river as well with my top pair.

It's an interesting decision either way.

I was just going to post this myself. I tend to be too optimistic though. I suspect that the respected posters here will tell us our outs are too dirty.

Here are my thoughts, but I don't know how to combine them into a "here's what we should do":

- BB may already have a better flush and we are drawing dead.

- We may be up against a pair and a high spade. We may even have the best hand currently.

- BB could have a strong K so only our 3 tens are good.

- Some combination of the above.

What's the right play? I definitely would've called on the turn here.

That was my thinking... though I'd hate calling the river with only TPMK on this board

i see these kinds of comments a fair bit here

it doesn't make sense to me, I'm calling the turn here, I know im behind, but I have outs and odds .. river blanks, I gotta call here with toppair

somethings missing, either your hand is good often enough on the turn that you can call the river profitably UI, or you need to hit a T or spade or a K (might counterfeit 2pr) to have something worth calling

basically if you need to improve to win, why on earth are you calling the rivers UI ..

What are your opinions about two alternate flop lines?

A. Bet the flop (in hop that two or all three folds)
B. Check/fold (I know it's a fairly large pot, but our outs can de discounted.)

I'm not arguing for any of them, just interested in opinions.

I don't like a bet; alot more players than we would like on this flop hung around from preflop, and its likely that somebody caught a piece of this board worth drawing to.

Honestly, I might just c/f the flop. I don't think everyone's folding, we're likely behind, and we've got tainted TP outs (one of which adds to the straight) and a 1 card 4th-nut, plenty of redraws for opponents...this doesn't add up to a happy time for UI overs.

you pretty much have to fold. i would have bet the flop, now we're not sure if we're paying off a better hand or not.

you have overcards and a BDFD- betting the flop may be debatable, but i don't think folding is. this isn't a horrible flop for our hand by any means.

I think it's almost as bad as they come without a jack, queen, or ace. How many outs do you give us on the flop?
