What is biggest adjustment from SNG success to MTT?
I am curious as to what you think is the biggest adjustment to make to bring successful SNG play (3table) to say 10 - 15 table MTT?
I think that I am pretty successful and consistent at the 3 table SNGs and want to transcend that to MTT play. Would it be the ability to blind steal and push the +EV hands to accumulate chips as the blinds reach 100/200 level and beyond? |

There's not much difference between 3 table sng and mtt. You will just have to play like their are 3 full tables for the first couple of hours.

Re: What is biggest adjustment from SNG success to MTT?
Sng Tables go much quicker, and therefore require a more aggressive style to be successful. Not that an aggresive style won't work in multi's but my experience and success in MTT's has been by playing a much more conservative style than I do in SNg's. Changing from an aggressive style to consefvative is like going from expresso to decaf.

Re: What is biggest adjustment from SNG success to MTT?
thank you.
I tend to play very conservative during SNGs and look for my chances to be aggressive with good hands, and then when the blinds get to the 100/200 level I start being more aggressive with blinds steals with hands I don't mind being called with and the occasional throw away hand to mix it up. I try not to steal more than about once a round, but will raise all raising hands regardless of position, and when it gets shorthanded 5-6 I open up my hand selection and try to steal blinds more often while building my stack up. |
