empire 1000 guaranteed...mid-high stack with pkt 8

Down to last 6 tables, i have around mid-high chip stack overall and chip leader at my table with around 3500.

blinds 25-50, mid pos raiser (semi-tight) opens for 200.

I am on the big blind with 88 so i call. Flop is 769 ranibow. I check, oringal rasier bets pot ( about 600 ). I check-raise him all in. He calls and shows QQ.

My thinking behind this move was that:

1) There is a decent chance he is making a continuation bet with two big cards.

2) Even if he does have an overpair I have lotta outs.

3) I have been playing rather loose, so there is a possiblity for a fold from him if I could make him think I hit a set or two-paired.

4) He was 2nd in chips, so the flop bet didnt commit him a whole lot to the pot, thus there is a chance the all in bet would scare him off.

5) Even if I lost, it would still leave me with about a bit over a 1000. Enough to make a comeback.

6) If I win, with only 6 tables left, I give myself a good chance at final table.

** wut do you guys think about that move, do u agree with it? Or do you think, given I had a decen stack, I could've/should've avoided this situation and wait for a better spot?
