Default So I\'m taking a break

The last 2 days have been scary. I went from a reletively bloated 470BB to now just over 360BB, all single or 2-tabling. I'm definitely not on my A-game, but hell I don't think my D-game loses that fast. It's not the beats or second-best hands that are getting to me, it's the frequency of them. I just can't stand to lose another 30BB pot to a riverd set from an underpair today (3 hands come to mind). It feels like I've gone 2 rounds with Tyson without a break. Taking one of his punches isn't fun, but taking 50 one after the other is unbearable.

I'm taking a break until monday to evaluate where I'm at. You read about posts saying "I just dropped 100BB" and thinkg it'll never happpen to me. Well, it just did. See you guys monday.

Well, I've been there before. I took a beating once clearing a multi-poker bonus, and also I have taken a beating at the cryptos. I think breaks are good...I have taken a break from ring games lately...I have been playing sng's and mtt's. It's kind of a cool break. I'm sure you'll come back around.

Your A-game may lose that fast. Scary, huh?

Just a suggestion, but on this break, make it a complete break. Don't read/post here. Don't review HH's. Don't go over that one part of SSH you're still unsure of. Go for a hike/bikeride, go play tennis. (I need to do the same thing myself.

It's hell because I can never sit down. I usually get dealt AA on the rail...

Default I\'m back

a little while off helped. I won $1 tonight at .5/1. saw jaran for a bit, but the table dumped pretty quick.

I've been fooling around playing NL with my cousin live, which has been good. He just got back from the WSOP (David Hickman, placed 321 in the ME!), and playing with him showed a couple of leaks I had. I was playing pretty loose, especially up front, and I feel like I was paying off with middle pair too often, on suspicion of a bluff. In short, I'm back and should be running well soon enough. crossing my fingers

Sounds good. The only thing I'd caution against is to not let too much NL advice turn you into a weak tightie. Nut peddling can win big at NL, but it won't cut it at limit, because you don't have the same implied odds. Tightening up in front, however, is still generally good advice, and playing sherriff is a good way to lose money, too.

Congrats to your cousin. What's the payout at 321st place?

Glad to see you're happier with your play. A little confidence is key. When I'm in a losing mindset, I'm too inclined to fold when have a reasonable chance and call down when I don't. Good luck, and welcome back.

playing NL just reminded me that I hadn't completely forgotten how to play, I'm not gonna take that to my limit game.

321 payed $21k. Dave got in through a $39 supersatelite on party. He plays MTT's and SnG's on party and stars, and has done pretty well. Not 21k well though.
