Default turn play

party 5/10

villain's stats are 19/10/2.7 over 800+ hands

loose passive utg limps, 1 fold, TAG opponent in utg+3 raises, 3 folds, i 3-bet in the CO with 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], folded around to utg who calls 2 cold, TAG in utg+3 calls. 3 to the flop.

flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] - 10.4 sbs

loose passive checks, TAG villain bets, hero raises, loose passive folds, TAG villain 3-bets, hero calls.

about the flop raise, i had seen villain gaybet into a lot of preflop raises with crap and then fold to a raise... how would you normally play a flop like this against an unknown? just fold? try and get to a showdown cheaply? once he 3-bets, the pot is laying me 15:1.

turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] - 8ish bbs

TAG villain bets, hero ???

You are proably drawing to two outs. If you think you are then it's an easy fold. What do you put him on? I'm thinking he has high PP or A/K.

With a hand like nines flop raise is a must three handed. The villian flop three bet sucks and I dont see any hands that he might have that you are ahead of, so it looks like a fold to me.

Hard to say given the HU-ness of this pot, AcKc? QQ? I think his turn bet on that king, plus the earlier action gives him a better than you though. If you wanted to raise and not put anymore money into the pot I wouldn't hate you.

TAG's 3-bet on the flop, and then lead on the turn says you're beat, and should fold with your 2-outer.

I realize this is a dumbass question, but what does "gaybet" mean?

he's pretty solid. so i think he's capping both of those preflop, especially with the loose/passive tagging along for the ride. doesn't AJ make more sense? also, it's not unusual for AK to raise the flop in this situation looking for a free river. AK is a very plausible hand for me in this situation imo.

Also called a "donkbet". It means betting out into an opponent, out-of-position, when a player behind had the initiative in the previous betting round. Hero 3-bet the flop, but Villian bet out on the flop. Called a "gaybet" or "donkbet" b/c most people can see the good opportunity for a check-raise.
