Find a river value bet? 10/20 9max
Villian in this hand is tight. Only had a few hands on him, but my guess would be a tight weak player.
Converter wouldnt work so I'll write it up. Villian limps UTG, folds to me in the CO and I raise with 77. Blinds get out of the way and villian calls. Flop is T85 two spades (I have the 7s). Action goes check/bet/call. Turn is 4h check/bet/call. River is the 3d - UTG checks. Bet this one for value? -SmileyEH |

Re: Find a river value bet? 10/20 9max
I wouldn't bet it. The only had that you beat, and has at all a tiny shot of him calling you with is 66 and 5x most likely A5s if there is any chance he has a 5. Any busted draw he's folding, and and big ace that would be worth calling you on the river w/ A high, he would have raised PF.
I usually check through these rivers. |

Re: Find a river value bet? 10/20 9max
I usually bet in these spots and hope to get a call from something like A5 or 66. You may get called by an 8 or a weak 10, but the right thing to do is to value bet these weak tight players to death.

I'd say bet this one out - I'd say it's likely he's holding two over cards.

And if he holds two over cards, is he going to call your bet? It seems to me this is a pretty marginal spot of only getting called by a better hand.

[/ QUOTE ] There are worse hands he will call with, but whether that frequency is higher than the times he calls with a better hand is definitely up for debate. -SmileyEH |

Will he play AT/KT this way? 99? A8?
I see tons of combinations that beat you and only a few that will often call and lose. Add in the weak-tight read, and it is a clear check. Villain would need to have hands like AJ/44 in his calling range to make this bet profitable. |

[/ QUOTE ] Hey Nicky, I don't get it [/ QUOTE ] I don't get what I wrote either actually...after reading it again, I realize it doesn't make much sense. I thought I read somewhere in the OP that the villain was passive as well, I must be seeing things. Just to correct myself, a weak-tight player will most likely be calling down with a better hand than 7s or a draw (which he will not call a bet at the river). Checking seems like the right play. |
