Default The Ace & The King

Just how far do you take AK at Party's lowest limit?

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises, MP1 calls, 6 folds.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

River: (6.75 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8.75 BB

Without a read? I turbo-muck that turn. Your average PP clown does not get aggro with marginal hands -- it is either a monster hand or absolute crap. This pot is small; there really is not much to be gained by calling down on the off chance he is bluffing.

Any read on MP1?

I really dont think you should call a river bet unless you know MP1 is a complete maniac. What possible hands can you beat here that MP1 would raise on the flop and bet the turn/river? I would also probably have folded on the turn.

Very thin call on the flop raise.

Easy fold on the turn.

The reason we have reads is to make money. Here you can make money by saving money. Fold to the flop raise unless you think your table image will suffer. Otherwise fold the turn. Why are you calling down a rock with A high?

I see many rocks at .5/1 play AQ and AK unimproved to the river, this is why I'm posting the topic.

From now on, I'll "flop it or drop it"

Cheers,

I'd fold the turn unless MP1 is a maniac. No pair, no draw, and the pot is pretty small.
