Default Buyin for limit cash games

I will be going to Turning Stone in two weeks. I was wondering how much to bring to the table if i was playing the following limit cash games.
$1-3
2-4
3-6
5-10
6-12
??

Also has anyone played at the Turning Stone poker room or casino in New York, if so how is it. Thank you. This will be my first trip to a live casino/poker room so any advice is appreciated.

Buy in for at least 20BB. If you want more in front of you, buy in for whatever you feel comfortable with.

Be sure to always have at least 12BB in front of you.

Check the replies in the duplicate thread started in SS. I usually go 25BB, but that's subjective. ANd the reason to have at least 12BB at all times is that this is the amount capping all streets adds up to.

This is good advice. Keep in mind that most other players at the game will not do this. They will buy in for much less. For example, at my local club, we have a 4/8 game into which a typical buy-in is one rack of blue ($1) for a total of $100, which is just over the 12 bets recommended (in case you get a monster and you need to have enough for the max bet on every street).

In our 6/12 game, a typical buy-in is one rack of purple ($2), or $200, almost 17 bets. People buy in for a rack in these games because it's easily manageable, and seems to be enough. When I buy in for my usual 25 BB in these games, people look at me like I'm crazy. Just the other day, one of the regulars asked me as I was approaching the table, "What do you need all them chips for, Brian?"

Follow this advice, though. Don't get yourself short stacked or you'll find yourself passively conserving chips, and you won't be able to play an effective game.

turning stone poker room is nice.
plenty of games going around the clock.
i would say the 5-10 is the best bet.
lots of fish and the rake is the same as the 2-4.
poker room is non smoking and you can have food ordered to your table.
any other questions just ask.
