Default How to play river

Playing couple hands in table. No good reads.

6 players .50/1.0 nl game. Villain stacks is 35 and i had him covered

Folded to villain, who calls in sb . I check in bb with Ac 8d

Flop comes Ah 4d Ts check check

Turn is 2h Villain bets 2 and call

River is 8h Villain bets 4, raise to 10 and Villain moves in, 20 more to call. I called

I like a raise on the turn.

Raise pre-flop. IŽd bet the flop, but I'd probably bet any flop with any holding when checked to in this situation.

It's been folded to the SB, who doesn't raise, just completes. A8o is probably the best hand and you will have position on the SB throughout. A raise is a pretty good move, and I would raise in this situation with many hands worse than A8. (However if you are known to the SB, A8 is a perfect hand to just check with, as he won't put you on an ace, if he knows you usually raise in the SB/BB situation described)
