Ultra Lag Showing Hands
This guy ended up with a 83.56 VPIP with a 56.85 PFR through 146 hands that I played with him. I'm not a big fan of multi-hand posts...but I need to lay down the theme here.
Very first hand is this: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter MP1 ($83.5) Villain ($100) MP3 ($115.92) CO ($97.5) Button ($116.78) SB ($114.4) BB ($24.52) UTG ($142) UTG+1 ($94.5) UTG+2 ($99.05) Preflop: Villain is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Villain posts a blind of $1. SB posts a blind of $0.5. He got trapped twice by somebody with AK and somebody with AA, but he was winning money. How could this guy be winning? How do I play against this guy? |

Re: Ultra Lag Showing Hands
with a good hand, check call down.
repop him preflop with good hands. in the QQ vs K2 hand, SB should have pushed preflop after the all in from short stack. |

How could he be winning? [/ QUOTE ] It's called variance. Comebined with people not pushing PF against him with QQ for some odd reason. |

with a good hand, check call down. [/ QUOTE ] Only if the hand is good enough to call an all in at any point. These guys make money by getting calls then pushing check callers off their hands. |

Re: Ultra Lag Showing Hands
Don't be results oriented. He is not a winning player. His style has a huge variance, and he will sometimes win a lot. I think the best strategy is to wait for a decent hand and call him down. If he raises every hand and bluffs every street, this is a winning strategy (in the long run).

This is one of the few time when I would suggest buying in a bit short and just play preflop poker. |

If he raises every hand and bluffs every street, this is a winning strategy (in the long run). [/ QUOTE ] He didn't bluff and raise every street. About 5 times I saw people with TPTK or better (2 times with 2 pair; once with a flopped flush) check-call the flop and then get it checked down to the river because they kept trying to trap him. He bluffed the turn often, but he got out being trapped (from what I could tell) 5 times out of 7. The other times, he had a better hand when the money went in. For instance, I saw him take K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] against KQ (of course he had raised pf) and the flop came K4X with no suits. He bet like normal after the check and the guy with KQ kept check-calling until he had called off his entire stack. Every time that I had a decent hand with him, he didn't lead out....but, every time I flopped nothing, he made a continuation bet on the turn when I didn't catch. |
