Default Is Party $5000 Freeroll Waste Of Time?

Thank You

Financial - Little - none.

I take it this is not a true indication of what to expect in a MTT with a $100 buy in?

I won this one once, nice for me...but only the top 30 pay. A long way to go from the 2000+ who usually enter it.

Doubtful. Play the $350K freerolls. Top 10 get entry to $350K GTD worth $215. I've played 2, cashed once and 25th, so very soft.

Just got knocked out 125th.Early stages got my stack up to t4500 and lost half to a bad beat. I had 9T in BB three limpers I check. Flop 99T. Checks to me I move all in and get called by A6o. Turn river AA.At end of second break I am all in or fold mode and push from button with A8o and get lucky against BB TT. I get up to t19k lose 5k on steal attempt and some more bad beats.Down to t5400 with blinda at t1k t2k I move in with 77 and get called by 88.

Question:Alot of these people will call all in bets with K6 JT A8. Is this type of play also true in the $100 buy in MTT on PP?

I found myself folding AQ,AK, in position because I was not expecting someone to re raise UTG all in with K8s. UTG turns ove A2 and wins with pair of aces.

Why YES! It is almost exactly like playing with people who are willing to pony up $100 to play a tourney!

Play tighter and when you get a decent hand look forward to doubling up. These are probably not as off the wall as the run of the mill freerolls; cetainly a lot of MTT regulars are playing them.

It's essentially a huge $1-$2 buy-in tournament.

Personally, I think playing these is a huge waste of time and I only play one when I'm bored and am trying to break a record for suckouts - lol. Seriously, I play the freerolls like I play at play money tables, as do a lot of other players, though many probably don't do it on purpose lol. One time I had 20k+ chips in the first hour, but i never even made it to the 2nd break hahahaha. Play money and freerolls crack me up. They're fun (for some), but really not worth playing in unless you're dead broke. I'm sure something constructive could be gained from them for some people, but you're better off just playing a real MTT if you are trying to improve or make money.
