agression from tight opp. who is OOP
MP1 hasn't done anything tricky so far in 31 hands:
VPIP = 6% PFR = 0% AF = 0.4 Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (10 handed) converter Button ($16.05) SB ($4.75) BB ($52.15) UTG ($41.15) UTG+1 ($.85) UTG+2 ($23.10) MP1 ($25.15) MP2 ($5) Hero ($24.50) CO ($28.45) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, MP2 calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1, 4 folds, MP1 calls $0.75, MP2 folds. Flop: ($2.60) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 checks, Hero bet $1.50, MP1 calls. Turn: ($5.60) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) MP1 checks, Hero bets $3.00, MP1 bets $22.65 (All-In), Hero ? How should I read this large overbet from a tight opponent that doesn't have position? Does this call-call, check-call, check-raise tell me that I'm walking into a monster? Is my opponent just responding to the size of my bet? Could they have KK and freaked out by the A, or does someone who only sees 2 or 3 hands out of 31 just check fold with kings? Please advise on how to improve my line here, thanks. |

Re: agression from tight opp. who is OOP
I had to think about this one. My guess is a slowplayed set. Its really the only hand that makes sense if a tight player limped UTG. Could be AK as well I supposed...either way you're fooked. No reason not to just fold at this point that I can see.
EDIT: Ok, I dont know why I thought the villain was UTG. Still, I stick to my answer given his tightness thus far. I will add to his hand range some Axs(hearts of course) quite possibly with the x giving him some sort of straight draw. Yeah I dont think you are looking well here. I would bet more on the flop. 2$ or so...
And on the turn i would frequently check and call a moderate size bet on the river instead |

Fold 100% of the time.

Re: agression from tight opp. who is OOP
looks like a slowplayed set or something like you are reverse-dominated. He could have limped with Ah7h or possibly A5o or A6o. You might have made it a pot sized bet after the flop to see if he would let it go or just checked behind and then made a pot bet on the turn to see if you got raised or not. Either way I would fold because it looks like he caught Aces up on the turn or possibly a slowplayed set. If you say he was an extremely tight player he might have been slowplaying AA since he was OOP. Doesn't look like a worthwhile call to me.

He could have limped with Ah7h or possibly A5o or A6o. [/ QUOTE ] make that A4o or A6...since A5o would NOT be giving anybody Aces up |

Hey Bfizz,
I think this is an automatic fold. |
