Keep playing tight preflop but bluff more postflop.

Re: when the cards run dead
When I'm running bad I bluff less because my opponents sees me showing down bad hands and since I'm still playing aggressively he gets the idea that I'm playing aggressively with crap. Tighten up and stay aware of what he thinks of you.

Re: when the cards run dead
While multi-tabling, I have found I needed to take up different personas at different tables. If I was losing on one of them (for whatever reason - maybe bad beats, maybe just beaten from the get-go), I tighten up a bit because it does seem like more players are willing to call me down and show down an Ace-high hand. While playing that way at one table, I may be super-aggressive at another table because I had been winning and other players are afraid to go up against me - and when they do, its clearer they have a strong hand.

Re: when the cards run dead
King, do you have any suggestions for keeping track of your different personas? I 4 table 5/10 6max and find it hard to keep track of these personas, although I know they exist.

Re: when the cards run dead
I agree 100% with King - and for me, keeping track is as simple as looking at my stack size. I sit at all tables with the same starting amount, so it's pretty easy to see how I'm running at each. Bluffing more when my cards are not hitting is just chip spewing (at least in my case). Best to get out of the way early in the hands and wait for them to start hitting again. After showing down a few winners, then I start bluffing again.
