Is this absolutely standard?

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets</font>, SB folds, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

why would you think bottom 2 is best here after the previous action? what is villian jamming with?

Nice hand. One of those spots where you have to be happy that villain chose the (uncommon) 3-bet turn -- free showdown line.

he wasn't planning on taking a free showdown. he checked because the river made 4 to a straight

Turn cap=burning money. He is up against bigger two pair or better most of the time.
