How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
If a player suddenly made $25,000 in a day in say a $100 or $200 No Limit room, would party poker investigate at all to see if any collusion was taking place. In addition, does party poker know what cards you hold if you muck. I realize at showdowns obviously the cards are probably logged, but the cards that you fold, does party poker have any idea what they are? How do they go about monitoring money dumping, collusion, and other forms of cheating? For example, if a player wanted to give player A money to help collude with him, and it got to showdown, Player A puts player B All-In for 70 dollars with complete crap, but just enough to beat Player B, would they redflag this?

Re: How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
yes, they can know your cards..
My understanding is that an investigation only takes place when there's a report filed, or when someone loses a LOT of money HU to another player. |

If it's HU, how can it be collusion? They can't possibly cooperate to lose money to each other, lol... unless you mean cheating?

Chip dumping, as in transferring all your money to another guy? Sorry not familiar with this

I don't know why you would do this in real money games, as you're paying crapton of rake...not to mention I believe party lets you transfer funds between accounts anyway? |

Re: How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
But chip-dumping just smells of money laundering, doesn't it?

Re: How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
Yes, but if you are, say, using Party to launder money or transfer cash internationally for nefarious purposes, then a player-to-player transfer would be as obvious as a check, and would prove you knew the other party (or parties). If you dump chips to someone else (and Party didn't monitor) it doesn't look like a deliberate financial transfer, and it's a bit harder to trace a network of transfers.
It might not concern many players much but certain Govt officials get very bent over things like that. |

Re: How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
This may be a verrrrry stupid question, but what would stop someone chip dumping in a B&M - they dont even have to play, just physically hand the guy a load of chips?

Re: How does Party Poker guard against collusion?
Well, there are a nice amount of camera's in casinos, so it would be hard to do it without being taped...
