New World Order - Diplomacy

NWO is a diplomacy variant played online. The main difference is that it is much larger, with 39 players spanning over the whole globe. Each turn takes about a week, with moves being communicated over emails. If you have played diplomacy before, the rules will come really easily. If not, well the rules are very simple anyway (PM me) [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Here is a link to the NWO rules; just read the first couple posts (its pretty obvious). I will be glad to moderate the game, just posting this up to see if it would be possible to get 39 2+2ers into a massive diplomacy game. I already have the interest of ~4 people.

If you are interested, bump this post and say you are willing to play. PM me with any questions - if we can't get 39 players, the game can't happen, so feel free to invite your friends if they are interested (although 2+2ers get priority).

As far as time commitments go, each turn takes about a week, but you can plan your moves and talk to other players whenever you want throughout that time. I will set up a forum just for the game where you can post publicly, or you can communicate privately via PM's, AIM, phone etc.

If you get stuck as being Canada, do you automatically lose?

How time-consuming is it? If it's not terribly so, I'd play.

It really is only as time consuming as you make it, but on average I would guess about 30 minutes a day. And Canada really isn't that bad, you can be ethiopia!!!

Good point: rules for basic diplomacy.

They really are less complicated than they seem - each unit has one movement, one strength, and one defense. They can share str and def with each other (as an order - cant move or attack if they do). So the game lies in the necessity to team up and make deals secretly with other players. These deals, however, do not need to be binding...
