But now after reading and learning, I've decided to start chasing them a bit more because of the implied odds of hitting them. You really can take their whole stack. I'm wondering about my river play, the board paired, but I didn't think he had the full. He min-raised UTG. I figured a medicore ace or king, the only hand I was worried about was KQ. But I pushed anyways. No reads because I'm at work and not paying full attention. Looking at it again, my preflop limp was pretty bad as well. I'm one-tabling at work, so I'm playing pretty loose. |

Just trying to see where my opponents were at and maybe take down the pot. When he raised me, I knew that if i hit I'd take down a big pot. The way I see it, if I checked and he bet, I know nothing, it could be a bluff or he could have something since he was in position. A check-call may also let him know I'm chasing. I'm not sure if I would have won as much as I did had I checked.

other than your UTG call preflop I like the hand.
I would bet the flop here as well just to see where I stood and since he only mini raised (preflop and then again on the flop) I would definately call his raise. Unless you know from past experience that he will bet the turn I'd probably lead into him again just to see what he'd do. |

Gutshots usually have high implied odds, but less so with ones that make A high straights, since opponents will be more willing to believe that you have the goods.

This doesn't make any sense. You're going to get paid off more on boards where your opponents have two pair than boards where your opponents have ace high.
