Default Snapping off a bluff?

Opponent is 52/20 decent agg factor. We are playing 3 handed at NL400. I've been playing with him for a while now and I know he doesn't like me (I raised A4o preflop and beat him with it, he made a comment in the chat).

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $4 BB (6 max, 3 handed) converter

Probably flatcalling. I don't remember him reraising me much preflop, but hey maybe he never got 99/TT when I raised.

how often was he defending his blinds, too? (sorry, but this info is pretty important.. the more hands he'll call with the more combinations of bluffing hands...)

He definitely had it out for me but wasn't calling every hand I raised preflop. Probably about half or a third of em.

I kinda hope you called -

when he calls the flop he could have oesd, flushdraw, lower 9, etc etc. but you know all that.

you need to be good ~40% of the time, so if he has it out for you, make the call. I dont think there is a set answer, because your exact hand can beat bluffs, and his bet is either a monster or a bluff.

Hi Popinjay,

I think he has a horribly played 7 that missed his checkraise on the turn.

I would let this one go. You beat a busted flush, small pocket pair 88/66/44 and a weaker 9. You are behind to alot that he could push here.

Hi Popinjay,

Fold. He may have you notched, he may have a 7, he may be bluffing. There's not enough money in the pot to find out.

Yeah, except his opponent (Popinjay) is apparently considering a call of this huge overbet. So, if he bets a 7 this way, it's not really too bad, is it?

This is more or less the way Spirit Rock and many other tough LAGs would play trips/boat/busted draw, and the option to do so is one thing that makes NL more interesting to me than PL.
