New secret strategy to beating hold em...... or not

How many others out there have felt that they have discovered a new strategy, that isn't all that new, a looser more passive, loose aggressive, tight passive, whatever. Had some great success with it for a week or so, then get smacked right back down, until you're faced with the fact that tight aggressive is the only way.....

I know some drift from this tag play to a looser style as their post flop skills improve.... but i wonder just how loose you can really get

In my 14 months of playing online, I have had at least a dozen such "revelations" after which I swore that I had "finally figured it all out" -- only to have reality smack me in the face a few days later.

The thing is you probably did figure it out for a given table condition. What you got smacked in the face with more likely a case of thinking what worked at one table will work at a table with an entirely different texture.

I try to start out TAG but will adjust my game to maximize EV according to texture.

I have 4k hands with an average VPIP of 25% and winning over 6bb/100.

I see TAG as a moving target depending on playing conditions. Some tables I have to play 18%VPIP, some tables I can play 30%.

Aggression is a moving target too, where does your value come from? Getting tight players to fold or betting the calling station and raising the maniacs for value? Or value calling your 3rd nuts.

You realize this means nothing right?

The only time I get "looser" is when I know I can bully the blind. The tighter the blinds, the looser my open-raise requirements are.
