Default Is improvement stunted by multi-tabling?

I've been playing about 1 year. My goal is to move up to mid level NL cash games. I usually play 3, 0.5/1$ tables and find that I am improving but am unable to evaluate opponents deeply (i.e., much beyond their poker tracker stats).
Thanks,

The answer to your subject is yes. Multi-tabling allows you to make more money short-term but you do not improve nearly as much as focusing on 1-2 tables, which lets you make more money in the long-run by beating higher stakes games.
