Default Slightly boring QQ OOP.

Villian is 13/5/3.71 over 140 hands. No special reads.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (8 handed) converter

Button (Villian) ($94.25)
Hero ($177.8)
BB ($100)
UTG ($100)
UTG+1 ($282.1)
MP1 ($103.65)
MP2 ($49.25)
CO ($160.8)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG calls $1, 4 folds, Button (Villian) raises to $5, Hero (poster) calls $4.50, 1 fold, UTG calls $4.

Flop: ($16) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)

Ok, not exactly a great flop for my hand, but I could still be ahead (i figure that even though he's pretty tight raising one limper on the button doesn't neccesarily mean AA/KK/AK or KQ). How do you normally proceed here? check/fold, check/call, lead some amount ?

Also anybody re-raise pre-flop here?

I lead for at least 10$, fold to a raise, check/fold it through after a call.

If you think there is a strong possibility hes not holding AK, AA, KK.. then lead and represent AK.

I would re-raise PF, then lead the flop for $10 or so. I would fold to a raise.

To other posters who would lead the flop-
Whats your plan if villan calls the flop bet? Do you lead the turn as well, or do you check/fold to a bet?

i re-raise pre-flop, lead the flop for around $10 and if re-raised fold. On the turn if there's only 1 other caller left i lead and fold to a raise, if 2 callers still i check/fold

Ok thanks, I check/called his $12 bet on the flop and check/folded to a $25 bet on blank turn.

Re raise pre flop, if you make it to a flop, you can either put in a small continuation bet or you can check. If he calls the continuation bet, you are beat, if he raises after you check you are beat. Besides this is full ring it seems like QQ should be an easy fold on this board.

The consensus seems to be reraise preflop, which I agree with. This will build a pot of ~$25, if you bet $10 at this flop you will be reraised almost always. I think betting closer to the pot would be a better line. That way if villian continues we can be fairly certain our hand is no good. JMO

What was your plan for the turn when you check-called the flop?

If you were hoping to turn a set or counting on him checking through the rest of the way, you should re-consider this line.

That was more or less my plan. Either catching that elusive queen or having him more or less give up.... yeah that was probably a bad plan but a lot of tighties give up after a continuation bet on the flop where they didn't catch anything...

I didn't really like my plan, that's why i asked here
