...or play to win and fold???
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (4 handed) converter Button (t1220) SB (t2665) Hero (t2755) UTG (t1360) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG folds, Button is all-in for 1220, SB folds, Hero ??? Note that Hero is getting almost 2 to 1 for just about a third of his stack... but this ain't no 93o hand either... |

I overpush this barring an exceptional read on UTG. Nope, I overpush it regardless.

Fold. Any ace is ahead of you. Any PP is ahead of you. You have fold equity. You can get chips without having to see a flop.

Fold. Any ace is ahead of you. [/ QUOTE ] True... but the pot is offering even odds to end up with half the chips on the table OR end up with ~2100 chips which isn't a terrible situation. EDIT: (after reading your edit ) I still have FE with 2100 chips. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I didn't notice the size of the blind. I'd still fold if the table is playing loose though because losing two big blinds could hurt if you aren't going to be able to steal any without getting called. If the table is playing reasonably tight, I'd probably call and either end up with a good lead or still in good contention to make the money. The size of the blinds, along with the odds you're getting, does make this an interesting hand. |

Has he been raising a lot in bubble time? My button raising standards in this position and at this stage are two cards, so KQ is way ahead a maniacal range. I would tend to call, get cut in half by A7o and go out on the bubble when I push 86o the next round . Or get a commanding chip lead and be a be fav to take 1st.

Either play is defensible here. My decision would be based on what has happened in the last 3 or 4 hands, but, not knowing much about that, I would call, thinking twice only if villain has been very tight (waiting for a hand to go all in on) for a while.

Wouldn't you be less convinced that Button is pushing a random hand in this spot, even if it is an "any two" spot? |
