This will make your Pfr go up. What hands that you would call (or fold) before are you open-raising now?

This causes some controversy, but I think most players here will agree with the raise. Also raising Aj and KQ is considered good from early.

I am still fairly new and follow the SSH tight chart and open raise with hands it suggest limping with from mid and late pos. and do raise AJo KQo from early.

I was told it is possible to raise more offsuit hands When open-raising / stealing. for instance (button) with Q10o+,
J9o+, K7o+ , any ace offsuit. Even you can lower your standards more if the blinds wont fight much.

Hey I'm a fairly newbie too and I'm trying to get that preflop raise stat up. It's improving! I was stagnant at 7.5 but now it's up to like 7.89 for me.

I've been open-raising all those nice suited Broadway cards like QJs, KTs, QTs, JTs too, when I'm first in. A9s, A8s. Sometimes I do this even in early position too. I hope I don't get yelled at for doing this

I like raising KQ early, sometimes AJ too. What about raising AT early? I'm told AT can be a raise or fold type of situation. Especially UTG.

it depends (stealing milesdyson's line). follow the SSH preflop charts according to table conditions- tight vs loose. a lot of factors really. if you've "mastered" these lists, check the Hold 'em for Advanced Players for further explanation of other hands.

don't just start "adding hands" to raise preflop just to boost your stats. i'm ~8.5% or something like that and i'm fine with it. oh, and i hate open limping
