Default 2/4 NL at Foxwoods Hand #1

I've got about $650 in my stack. Villian in SB has about $450. Not much of a read on Villian, he's only been at the table 45 minutes or so, and hasn't showndown many hands.

I get K9c in MP3, and it's folded to me. I make it $15 to go, and it folds to the SB and BB, who both call.

Flop is Qxx, all clubs. I bet out for $30 ... SB calls, BB folds.

Turn is Kh. I bet out $75, SB calls.

River is a blank. I fire out another $125, and he comes over the top for another $200 or so.

I called, and of course, he shows AJc for the nuts. How badly did I play this hand?

I say not badly at all. Without a strong read on villian, you can not lay this down. He has give you no reason to think he is strong and every indication is that he might be trying to bluff at a large pot on what he thinks may be a steal attempt taken too far.

Unless you have a read on villian that is he would only reraise in this position with the nuts, then you must call. Your flop and turn bet were also fine, imo. You can't beat yourself up over this hand -- it's just one of those things that you'll have to take.

Let's see... well first off, I probably wouldn't raise a junk hand K9c.

Secondly, what the hell were you calling a 200 raise on top of your 125 bet w/ a pair of Ks kickin' a 9?

This looks pretty terrible to me.

OK, thanks all. I had a bad feeling I was just throwing that last $200 or so away, but I couldn't see any way I don't call, since he could have just had AQ with the Ac often enough to try that kind of move.
