AKo questionable
UTG+1 i have no reads on, BB is mostly a donk but may get tricky. I am thinking I need to raise the flop.

Re: AKo questionable
I think I like this hand.
What would raising the flop gain you? A free card? Or 3-bet? This board is fairly drawless, I do not see the BB hanging around to be much of a threat. Regardless, I peel this flop and hope he has QQ or KK. If there were more people involved than I could see that move making more sense, but you are already 3 handed and probably behind to a fat overpair. -K |

Re: AKo questionable
Hmmmmmm, without a read, I'm not sure. A raise on the flop might do no more than earn you a 3bet, but I don't like calling here either. I think if you're going beyond the flop (which you should) a raise is in order. If he calls and checks, ck behind ui. If he 3bets, you have to call, and fold the turn ui. If he pulls a sng, well, again you fold ui.

Re: AKo questionable
I think you played it right.
Raising the flop would seem like a really bad idea to me. |

Re: AKo questionable
I agree that I don't think a flop raise does anything. You're gettign 3-bet a ton, and the only hand that isn't 3-betting, you aren't even ahead of (AK).

Re: AKo questionable
BB is a donk and sometimes tricky. Add to that that at these stakes defending the blinds unwisely is pretty common, through pre-flop to see the flop anyway. You see players calling a raise with not much, hands they'd fold anywhere else for one bet. And two bets to them may not chase them away either, especially in the BB.
I think in addition to high pairs for BB we could be looking at pocket A9, now trips. Or pocket 96 even, now two pair. Either way you're behind. As for UTG+1, he raised and capped so you have to assume he has a strong hand. So do you until you see the flop. Once UTG+1 bets the flop, which doesn't seem to hit anything worth a pre-flop cap and certainly hasn't hit you, you have to put him on a high pair or AK suited at least. Any of those and you're behind. Fold on the flop once he bets it. I'm guessing that BB, who shouldn't have been in the hand, wins with two pair or trips over UTG+1 who has something like AA, KK or QQ. |
