Hello, I've only been playing poker for 3 months (I played my first game of Hold'em in March).
Here is a hand at 30+3 Tourney. 650 players .. came down to 185 players ... #Game No : 2224690769 ***** Hand History for Game 2224690769 ***** NL Hold'em Trny:13193281 Level:6 Blinds (75/150) - Saturday, June 18, 04:00:51 EDT 2005 Table Multi-Table(367547) Table #2 (Real Money) Seat 8 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 2: ASanyasi ( $2110 ) Seat 3: eixomoxie ( $5133 ) Seat 5: drwilli ( $1570 ) Seat 6: stackkilla ( $8175 ) Seat 8: late_entry ( $3232 ) Seat 4: OLEGMERGES ( $1160 ) Seat 7: rbilabronze ( $2020 ) Seat 1: my3brs ( $2152 ) Seat 10: wesleyhazelw ( $2273 ) Trny:13193281 Level:6 Blinds (75/150) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to ASanyasi [ Ks Qd ] ASanyasi is all-In [2110] eixomoxie folds. OLEGMERGES folds. drwilli folds. stackkilla folds. rbilabronze folds. late_entry folds. wesleyhazelw folds. my3brs calls [1960]. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 5d, 4d, 4s ] ** Dealing Turn ** [ 9h ] ** Dealing River ** [ Ac ] ASanyasi shows [ Ks, Qd ] a pair of fours. my3brs shows [ As, Kc ] two pairs, aces and fours. my3brs wins 4295 chips from the main pot with two pairs, aces and fours. Player ASanyasi finished in 186 place Table Closed Ok, my first instinct was to just limp .. or fold .. since I was UTG and KQo wasn't such a great hand UTG. If I were on the button or any other late position, I still think I might have made this play.. Maybe atleast raised 3*BB. . But the table was folding to any all-in bet the last couple of hands and the only cards that could worry me are QQ,KK,AK,AK,AQ... My question is .. would this play be ok in late position ? or should I've only raised 3-4*BB even in late position or should I've gone all-in ? Thank you very much. Anyway, I guess newbie mistake ...Maybe I should stick to 5+1 or freerolls |

I say bad play. KQo has too may hands that dominate it. I might have went if I only had 5BB left not 14. It is still a playable hand for a raise in any position but not the all-in play. Once you are all-in all of your power is gone. You have nothing to bluf with when you completely miss the flop and no way to get away from the hand.

(KQo) is still a playable hand for a raise in any position [/ QUOTE ] It's alright to limp occaisionally UTG w/ KQo, but KQo isn't worth a raise in that position unless the table is weak |

Hey Asanyasi,
With a full table and about 14 BB's you must fold this everytime from this position. You have way to much poker to play and you're probably only getting a call from a hand that dominatees you. The previous poster said you can play this hand for a raise in any position which I definitely disagree with. Maybe from the button or SB with no one in the pot I might try to steal with it (with the right reads on the blinds of course), but you are going to have to more than miniraise putting you in a prearious spot if the hand plays on or someone comes OTT. You are not in panic mode here with 14BB's and you still have FE and lots of poker to play. good luck, yabastid |

Easy fold. I might try and sneak in with KQ from early position early in an MTT. I'll rarely raise with it and usually it's a steal attempt and I just happen to have KQ. This is a very typical hand for limit players to raise with and in no-limit games it's too dangerous. Plus, your stack is large enough that there's no need to push when you enter the pot. If you have a GOOD enough hand to raise with, just make a normal raise.
