How much should I have reraised the turn?
I just pushed because I was remembering my AA hand. But that's stupid. So what's the right play here? [ QUOTE ]
How about leading turn? [/ QUOTE ] I was real sure that this guy was going to bet if I checked it to him. The problem is that I didn't know how much to reraise because I wasn't really sure if I wanted a call or not. I think I did, but I figured that: 1 - I wasn't folding 2 - I didn't want to give him correct odds 3 - I didn't really want him to come over the top 4 - I wanted to define my hand I'm thinking that 3 and 4 are mistakes here, but I'm not sure. Even if I was sure, the only thing I can think of is to overbet the pot slightly and call if he pushes. What I'm really confused about here is: What if I pot the turn, get called and the river is a club. I can't bet it now, right? If villain pushes, do I have a call? I just pushed because I didn't know what to do if a club hit, I guess. |

Just bet half/two thirds pot.

You absolutely want to lead the turn. You get raised, good! Move in and expect a split @ worst.

If you want to confuse him into calling then I would rather do something like check-call the turn and then overbet the river. Or against the super-aggros you could even underbet the river and pray for a raise. But the line you took makes it really easy to get away for only $10 more.

What's your line if a club hits on the end or the board pairs?

Club wouldn't bother me. I'd consider it a blank.
If the board pairs I'd probably bet about half pot against people that will not raise me without a boat, against the LAGs I would more likely check/call. But my default line would be to just bet again on the turn. I'd only check if my opponent is either extremely weak-tight (and he might call a river bet, but not a turn bet, etc) or he's so insanely LAG that he will call on the flop with trash and try to steamroll me as soon as I show weakness. |
