Small Internet Tourney Strategies Help needed!
I noticed that I am having a hard time cashing in consistently on the tournies that usually start you off with 1500 chips or less. I do fine in rebuy tournies since you usually have a good amount of chips after the rebuy period even if you dont take down any big pots - just on original buy in, rebuy and add on usually gives you about 5k to play with if you didnt take down any pots.
I play a tight aggressive - or like to think I do. Do you guys gamble more on the non-rebuy tournies or take an even tighter approach like you would in a sng? any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Small Internet Tourney Strategies Help needed!
This probably is not the answer you are looking for.
If you are good at rebuy tournaments, but not so good at non-rebuys, you should probably play mostly rebuys. Rebuys have very nice prizepools and you can make decent money off the daily rebuys across a couple of sites. That said, I do not think I gamble more in a non-rebuy, I would say that I gamble far less. When I am ahead I bet, when I think I am behind but not by much I usually try to steal, if I am way behind then I fold. Just basic poker. I think if you are finding it hard to get a hand to play in a MTT, then you are probably playing too tight. You will have plenty of MTTs where you run dry and are forced to push a few times to catch up, but you will also have plenty where you should be getting enough hands to make a medium/large stack with. |
