Default 10.20 SH swing?

I'm new to 10 20 short handed. Made some decent BBs along the way, but I'll run into hits of 60BB in 2 sessions occasionnally.

I would just like to see what the variance is like for other 10 20 SH players, i.e. what are you avg. upswings/downswings, avg expected earnings/hr, etc

Thanks a lot!

60BB's is pretty bad, you might want to drop back down to 5/10 and work out the kinks.

I think anything over 10-15BB's down and I call it a session. 25BB's+ I know I'm in over my head and drop back a few levels to rebuild my confidence.

Downswings are a not often talked about ugly part of poker. We should really start a thread or two about dealing with them, especially at shorthanded games.

My worst day was a 95BB down swing. I kept leaving and coming back after a few hours of rest but nothing changed. Won@SD was something like 38.

It sucked, but the next day I made 70BB back and won a big tournament to put me back over the top.

My next worst day was 40BBs. (All at 5/10 btw)

i have lost 100bb in less than 1000 hands twice at 5/10. 60bb isn't that bad. these swings are common.

I'd say I average a + or - 60 BB swing on average every 500 hands

My one shot at sarcasm and humor for the month.

Nigel

To the OP, what these other guys say. Swings are totally normal -- at least 1 or 2 100BB swings per 10k hands.

Well here is my week so far just as an example. I'll let others comment on how normal/abnormal it is.
