Going to Tunica. Where to stay and play?
I'm headed to Tunica Friday evening. I'd like to stay at one of the casinos that offers a poker room rate (Gold Strike, Grand, Does Sam's Town still do it?, Horseshoe, any others?). So, my priorities are a nice hotel room, a nice poker room and some good fishy low-limit games in a well-run room, since I'm gonna be committed to 5 hours a day for about 9 days.
Thanks! |

Hate to tell you, but I'm pretty sure you are too late to get that poker rate for a weekend. They go fast - usually need to get them at least 2 weeks in advance. (That's for GS - I assume others are similar.)

It's opening this Friday according to the threads here. It sounds pretty nice. I have been playing at the GS and like it, but I will definitely be checking out the HS's new room.

Sam's Town has availability for this coming weekend. How bad is the poker?

Even before the new room the Horseshoe was the only place I considered worth driving 4 hours for. I have to assume it's even better now.

I just got the rate at the Grand today. They usually have more rooms than GoldStrike or Horseshoe (or, at least, they sell out slower). Horseshoe and Goldstrike are very hard to book on short notice.

I would rather stay at the GOldstrike or Horseshoe since they are right next to each other.
When I went I stayed at the grand its off by its self, plus I didnt like the poker room as much. |
