Default Hand from B&M tourney

This was a MTT at a Casino live. Posted it on MTT and got no responses. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1st hand of the tourney. Blinds 25/50

Hero is Button with 4000.
Perp is MP2 with 4000.

Hero looks down at K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

a few folds Perp calls, CO calls, Hero calls, SB completes and BB checks.

FLOP: Pot is (t250)

K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checks, BB checks, Perp checks, CO checks, Hero bets t200, SB folds, BB folds, Perp calls, CO calls.

TURN: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Pot is (t850)

Perp checks, CO checks, Hero bets t400, Perp raises t800 total. CO folds, Hero calls.
Now before the river card comes out Perp pushes all-in for t2950.

RIVER: 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Pot is now because of his all in move (t5400)
If you are Hero what do you do here?

Will post results later.

Depending on the type of player he is (you said it was the first hand, so you may not know anything about him), and the stakes of the torny, it can change your decision greatly.

Personally I would fold. It seems all you can beat here is a bluff and at best you're probably going to split. There is a slim chance you are laying down the best hand, and there is still plenty of torny left. You still have a ton of chips relative to the blinds. Unless you know this guy is a complete clown, or have a great read here, I don't see how you can risk the whole torny especially on the first hand.

I have been burned so many times with K 10 in my life, that I normally lay the hand down before the flop. So I would lay down at this point if I was you. Since you don't know the guy you can't put him on anything, but it looks like K J or A 10 or a bluff. Either way, it is a good bet on his part, and you just need to take him out later on the tourny.

Fold pre-flop. KTs is not a great starting hand. Don't forget that in a tourney every time you enter a pot you may be putting everything at risk. Don't forget that a lot of mediocre players love playing AT. A great book to read would be HOH. Sorry this reads as a disjointed post but just getting down a number of random thoughts that came when reading the original post.

I can't see calling this bet this early in the tourney. If you have no reads, then fold and wait to get him later. If this tourney has rebuys and you want to gamble, then maybe call just to see how he plays. If this means your tourney life though I would fold and see if you caould get him to show.

Ya never know, maybe he was slow playing aces or had QJ. A donk and his money are soon seperated.

I'd fold, if he is pulling a fast one on you so be it, he'll lose them soon enough anyways.
You still have alot of chips compared to the blinds.

This was not a re buy. It was a 100+15 freezeout. My thinking was lets see a flop I have the button with KTs. Trust me folding went through my head but I said lets see a flop.

Hero thinks for a minute and folds showing his King face up. Perp then shows KQ and Hero feels damn good about his fold.
