Default Help the donk with check-raising...

No great reads. Button has only been around for about 15 hands or so, but his VPIP is 89% and he's been pretty aggresive. The other players are passive calling, but seldom raising. Whatever that is worth.

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero calls, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG folds, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, BB calls.

Turn: (4.75 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks, Button bets, BB folds, Hero raises, CO folds, Button calls.

River: (8.75 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 16.75 BB

I thought seeing the A was a great card for a C/R, thinking the poor bastard with Ax would bet. But, with that same logic, would I be better off betting the turn and hope to get raised?

I guess my reasoning is not great for that, but with 5 people in I thought the chances were good that someone could have one. I guess my real question is check or bet. Maybe I am being results oriented.

Even though they have one doesn't mean they will bet it. Remember that. Ax with a small kicker routinely will just chk call it down

I understand your reasoning, since Ax is a common limping hand at this level. Personally, I would rather bet out and hope it gets raised so I can 3bet.

I agree. I'd bet out, hoping to 3-bet. also I'd hate to see this turn check through.

Don't you mean bet out and hope it gets raised so you can donk-bet the river, get raised and 3-bet, there? Not that that line would work so well when the board pairs on the river, but if that 2 hand been a, uh, 7? With the 2 falling you'd have to C/R the river.

no.. 3-bet the turn at that point. flush draws will fold the river when they miss and the board will be scarier and you may not be raised.

Looks like acey-deucey? Awesome for you if it was...bummer if it was a slowplayed set of 8's, 2's, or pocket aces played like a jerk...
I would just lead the turn, too much of a chance it will be checked thru, and you don't want to miss a turn bet with a set. The rest looks like what I would do.
