believe me ... or not ? river bet size question
5/10 NLHE
3 limpers HERO has [Q-6] in BB. it is checked to the river. board is: [6-7-6-6-K] HERO wakes up and bets 40. P1 calls 40. (480 behind after call) P2 folds. P3 raises to 140. (800 behind after call) HERO ...? my reads: caller seems farily fishy, new face. raiser is a decent player, but i have seen him make mistakes for his entire stack. of course there is no right answer. it depends on their style - my style - what they think of my style. that aside, any general thoughts or comments? |

Stack sizes?
I don't like the check on the turn. Who's going to put you on quad 6's at that point? An ace will call a reasonable bet. You will also get a slow paying pocket pair to bite. The river depends on stack sizes. |

Re: believe me ... or not ? river bet size question
I rarely min-raise but I'd probably do it here (or close to it), or I'd push all-in. Anything in between seems bad. Will he call an all-in? You know him better than we do.

I would make it 300-320 total.

I would push for sure. I think a min raise yells SIX PLEASE CALL IM THE BB.

Re: believe me ... or not ? river bet size question
while it might just do that (scream call me please call me), he'll still look you up for the extra 100 or whatever it is... he can't fold getting the price he's getting, you'll have to show him quads. as for the all in, i don't think he calls enough to make it a better play, but it's also player dependent... maybe 777 might look you up? who knows.

Re: believe me ... or not ? river bet size question
Looks like P3 probably has a K, so push here. He'll put you on a K as well trying to knock out a split and call.
I love pushing when it looks like a split, since the other player will have to make a really tough fold or pay you off when you have something better. |
