Default Was my push correct?

Party 30 + 3. 850 Entrants. Top 90 cash. Down to 50. Average stack is 16K. Blinds are 1K/2K. I have 7K left after posting the BB where I have J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Folds around to the button who limps, SB completes, I check. Flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, I push. SB and Button have me covered.
I need chips now. If I check and button bets and I fold, I have 3BB left after posting the SB and intimidate no one right?

Oh goodness easy push.

*Edit* A more interesting question, I think, is does anyone push PF here. How often are we getting them to fold?

I think schwaza might have been at my table. Not 100% sure as I don't know his online name, but I was at Table #2 if my memory serves right. Pushes have been takin' the pots. Last 10 hands haven't even seen the turn due to pushes.

I think you have the best hand and should push.

I think you don't have any FE and any K or J will call, and a whole bunch of speculative hands.

Absolutely. If your image was Passive and your opponents were Tight a preflop push would have been even better.

How many chips does the button have? Have you been acting in a way that would make him scared to attack your blind?

How many chips does the small blind have? Is he at a chip level where he would have pushed preflop with a semi-strong holding?

Have you noticed anything about the button which would indicate that his limp is overly suspicious?

I don't see how anyone could recommend a preflop push without that information.

BTW, barring any other information I would have played it the same way considering the chips you had (for whatever my "stranger" advice is worth).

I disagree with all the people saying push. The button is probably going to bet this. I go for the checkraise allin.

Great idea. Your not getting away from the hand anyway, you might as well take a shot to get some more chips.

This is what I'm thinking. Who wouldn't steal the pot against 2 random hands that checked the flop.
