quick question - boston to foxwoods route
for people that make this drive -- is it really faster to go through worcester ? my friends that go have always gone through providence, but I've heard others say worcester is the way to go. Google maps says worcester.
this is leaving from right in boston, and should be no traffic (leaving sat 10 pm returning sun 11 am) FWIW thanks |

Re: quick question - boston to foxwoods route
It takes me an exact 1.25 hours @ 80 MPH to reach Foxwoods from Boston using I-95.

Re: quick question - boston to foxwoods route
I try to avoid 95 whenever possible - to many chances for a traffic jam - 90 west to 395 south to the 1st Foxwoods exit (89?)is my preffered and more predictable route.

Re: quick question - boston to foxwoods route
i've generally had an easier time going I-95. if it's evening rush hour as i'm approaching providence, i might take 295 around providence, but that's about it.

Re: quick question - boston to foxwoods route
I've found it to be almost exactly the same, 90-100 miles either way. It would depend on which part of metro Boston you live in, how much you care to avoid tolls on the Pike, and the aforementioned traffic considerations.

this is leaving from right in boston, and should be no traffic (leaving sat 10 pm returning sun 11 am) FWIW [/ QUOTE ] The traffic is the key to this. The stretch of 93 down to 95 is heavily traffic dependent. At night you should be able to fly down 95. The problems with 95 come from traffic south of Boston and around Providence where a small accident can back things up forever. |
