Same guy as HBDS#'s 1 and 2 is on the button.
My last hand of the night, I see Jc9c UTG and gambool and limp. Loose aggressive preflop, fishy weak bad postflop raises again from MP. Semi-tight passivish from other posts coldcalls in the CO, button calls, SB calls, BB calls, I call saying "I smell a big pot a-brewin'". 6 to the flop for 12sbs. Flop: 5c 6c 7s. Checked to MP who bets, CO raises, button folds, tightish pro SB 3-bets, I 4-bet, MP caps, all call. 4 to the turn for 16BBs. Turn: Qd. Checked around. River: Qc. SB checks, I check, MP checks, CO bets, SB agonizes and folds, I call. |

Am I missing something obvious here?
Edit - yeah, I misread the action. |

[ QUOTE ]
Would be interested in hearing what hands you'd assigned to everybody [/ QUOTE ] Well, I *didn't* assign my 3 opponents a set, the same straight draw, *and* a higher flush draw. Only my man Jim Brier does that. |

Seems to me from all these posts that Mr Passive is passive enough that when he is betting he always has it, thus you never raise him unless you can beat "it".
Until he shows you something you beat in one of these scenarios there is not much to debate really. (Speaking of river play only) |

Is the idea to get an overcall from MP? If so, why not bet the river and re-evaluate if CO raises? It's hard to put either player on a boat since the turn checked through, so with the third nut flush, can't you bet and either call or fold to a raise depending on reads? If not, I'm guessing you had a very strong read that the CO held the nut flush draw here, and that MP might overcall in the event you held the winner.

I call, MP folds behind me.
CO shows 7c8c and MHIG. |

Just curious why you didn't bet the river -- are you scared at all of it being checked through since it was on the turn?

I think you have to bet in this situation.
Tell me why not? You would have gotten action from any flopped straight on the turn and any set on the river. On the other hand I do see the nut flush betting and raising on the flop... One of those game situations that can only be answered at the table. |

Cutoff has to have a flush or better at least 90% of the time here. About 80% of the time when it is a flush it will be a bigger flush. It won't be a bigger flush often enough to even consider folding. Call and it isn't close IMO.

hey Rick. CAn you explain your percentages and how you came up with them?
"Cutoff has to have a flush or better at least 90% of the time here." "About 80% of the time when it is a flush it will be a bigger flush." |
