Improving your hourly rate
My main focus right now is cutting back on losses. I'm a fairly decent player and i'm probably playing a lower limit than i should.
The thing is i make plenty of money at .25-.5 PL games, the competition is easy, and i ussually just see my stack grow. But what is agrevating is the losing streaks, they seem merciless at times, and the few beats that are my fault are very trivial mistakes made by me; not raising enough preflop, not reading a hand correctly, bluffing too much. I say trivial because they were close calls with the reads, and bluffs. should i move up a limit? am i at the point of diminishing returns at my current limit? I keep seeing people write about having a 1 or 2 BB/100 profit rate. that seems very low. i feel like i could make a living on these low limit games if i could just keep off a few extra beats. anyone else in my situation? anyone have any input on low limit games? Is there really anything worthwhile about the low limit books that i haven't learned in "the theory"? |

n. c. A difference between what is expected and what actually occurs. How many hands have you played at this level? |

Re: Improving your hourly rate
Sounds like you need a new jamming device on your opponents' luckboxes.

i'm not sure how many, but i've been playing this level for about a month [/ QUOTE ] That doesn't mean much. How many hours/tables, etc.? At least then, you'd be able to roughly guesstimate totals hands. And then figure out your BB/100. FWIW,I'm probably the last person to ask about PL cash games, as I've played them slightly more than never. |

[/ QUOTE ] I know slightly less about pot limit than smb but I would guess the 1-2/100bb players you are seeing are playing limit. I could be wrong though, I usualy am. |
