Default Blindstealing...

BB seems pretty tight, SB seems like a fairly loose but straightforward (bets TP, etc.)

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $2.
4 folds, CO (poster) checks, Hero raises, SB calls, 1 fold, CO folds.

Flop: (6 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

Final Pot: 3.50 BB

I may play too tentatively in these situations, but I usually don't try to steal blinds with low suited connectors unless I the blinds are extraordinarily tight. These hands play so poorly heads up that I feel like I have to be fairly sure that I will win the hand before the flop. Having the poster makes it even more likely that we will get called here, although it makes the initial pot bigger.

Easy flop bet.

I might fire again if he called. I'm folding like the wind if raised.

If SB is fairly loose why do you try to steal with this hand?
Why betting TP makes him straightforward?

I don't think 45s is good enough for stealing, especially with somebody already posting.

As others have already explained, 54s sucks for stealing.

Against predictable tight players, I'm willing to expand my range of button raising hands. Against loose/passive players, I tighten them up since they will happily let me bet their hand to the river.

Why does the poster make it worse?
