the 20$ bet on the turn seems way too much to find out if your qq's are good. if you really represented a King, you wouldn't bet the pot. 1/3 of the pot seems a good number to me to bet.

Do you always underbet your good hands ?

I think this hand was played just fine.

for this particular situation, it would seem that the only action you will get from a pot sized bet is someone with a king. why bet the pot if you will only get called with a better hand?

the main reason to bet this flop or turn is the not give a free card to get outdrawn AND to limit losses in case someone has a king.

please give comments. I'm not a pro...willing to listen for better alternatives.

If you bet 1/3 pot and are called, then you *still* do not know if your hand is good or not. If you then check the river you stand to get bluffed off the best hand. If you bet, then how much do you bet ? 1/3 pot again ? Fold to a raise ? Yucky yuckerson.

Bet pot (or slightly less than pot - maybe 15 here). If called then you are much more sure you are behind, and you can let it go.

i think it would be pretty difficult for someone who doesn't have a king to call a 1/3 pot bet unless they had high pockets also. okay okay...perhaps 1/3 pot bet might be tad small.... maybe 1/2 pot bet max. any more i think wouldn't be worth it b/c someone else actually might have the King. Someone would need to have extra large cajones to bluff at this flop b/c of the 3 of a kind possibility.

why would anyone bet the pot if he had a king? wouldn't you want to try to get some action by betting 1/3 or 1/2 the pot?

i'd probably bet 2/3 or 3/4 of the pot if i had a king.

but, if i have QQ on this flop, i'm betting it. probably half of hte pot. if i'm called, i'll most likely go into check/fold mode.

Why do you bet it different if you have a K, or if you dont have a K ?
How can you successfully represent a K if you play like that ?

For what its worth - I think the Villain behind you would play this way with AK/KK and AA, so you are behind em all, and the river seals the deal.
